BR28713711 – Development of technologies and organization of production for innovative construction materials derived from industrial mining waste and local clay raw materials

Objective of the project – Create and implement technologies for the innovative production of building materials from waste generated by subsoil use and the agro-industrial complex.

Relevance: The study is driven by the need to efficiently utilize marbleized limestone waste from the Ekpendinskoye deposit in line with resource conservation and sustainable development priorities in Kazakhstan’s construction sector. The absence of marble-textured brick production in the country highlights the necessity of developing local technologies and establishing domestic manufacturing. Producing bricks and ceramic clinker products from local raw materials will expand the range of quality materials, reduce import dependence, and improve market competitiveness. The creation of a joint venture will further support investment attraction, business growth, and job creation.

Expected and achieved results: Marble-textured bricks will be developed from marbleized limestone waste of the Ekpendinskoye deposit, including raw material analysis, optimization of hyperpressing parameters, and studies of carbonization, strength, durability, and color compositions. In parallel, refractory clay deposits will be assessed, ceramic mass compositions selected, and clinker products developed with analysis of firing conditions and functional properties, supported by technological regulations. Software for robotic storage systems and production management will also be created to improve process efficiency. Additionally, a plant for hyper-pressed brick production will be established, including resource development, product certification, ISO implementation, and the creation of marketing and promotion strategies.
