Goal of the work: The emergence of new professions that lie at the intersection of agricultural sciences, data science and robotics

Relevance of the work: The results of the program will contribute to the development of the agricultural UAV market with an estimated volume of several tens of millions of dollars. Improving the educational level of specialists by introducing the results of the program into the educational process.

Results obtained:  In 2025, within the framework of the project, hexacopter and tilt-rotor UAV platforms were developed and tested, along with onboard payload systems for agricultural field monitoring. A prototype of a ground-based hardware and software complex was created and deployed, incorporating high-performance computing resources for data storage, processing, and analysis. Software tools for image segmentation and classification based on satellite and UAV data were developed, and annotated datasets for machine learning models were prepared. Methods and prototypes for flight path planning were implemented using optimization and genetic algorithms. Models and software solutions were developed for crop growth stage identification, yield prediction, and crop stress assessment. In addition, a cartographic system for visualization of monitoring results was created, and all planned tasks were completed in full.
