AP26198837 – Constructions geotechnical monitoring in seismically hazardous regions by the observation innovative methods and means development ensure their operation safety

Objective of the projectensuring the safe operation of buildings and engineering structures based on a comprehensive monitoring system that considers and analyzes all natural and man-made factors, as well as using the methods and means of geotechnical monitoring developed by the authors, contributing to the increase in the accuracy, reliability, efficiency and scientific and practical significance of observation results.

Relevance: The relevance of this project is driven by the need to ensure the safety of construction and operation of buildings in seismically active regions, where there is a high risk of destruction due to ongoing ground surface movements. The growth of urbanization and infrastructure development requires the implementation of reliable geotechnical monitoring systems capable of accounting for both natural and anthropogenic factors. The lack of comprehensive and high-precision monitoring methods increases the likelihood of accidents and significant economic losses. The project proposes the introduction of innovative technologies and the creation of geodynamic testing sites, which will improve the accuracy and efficiency of monitoring. The ability to predict hazardous geoprocesses and prevent emergencies is of particular importance. In addition, the implementation of the project will contribute to the development of Kazakhstan’s scientific and technical potential and enhance the competitiveness of domestic research.

Scientific supervisor: Candidate of technical sciences, Assistant professor, Nurpeiisova Toleuzhan

Expected and achieved results: Within the framework of the project, a geodynamic polygon was designed, incorporating points of state and reference geodetic networks for monitoring the deformation state of structures. A comprehensive analysis of scientific literature, research reports, and design documentation prepared by Kazakhstani and international organizations was carried out. The geological-tectonic and seismic conditions of the study areas were examined, which made it possible to substantiate the monitoring parameters. Topographic surveys were conducted within the study areas to identify points of the state geodetic network, reference networks, and benchmarks of observation stations. Spatial geodetic measurements were performed to obtain accurate data on deformations. A patent search was conducted on the research topic, and a patent application was submitted (incoming No. 2025-89065). A copyright certificate for a scientific work was obtained (No. 63567 dated October 29, 2025). The achieved results form a foundation for the further development of geotechnical monitoring systems and improving the reliability of engineering structures.
