AP26104571 – Development of technology for producing modifying additives based on mineral raw material waste for accelerated hardening of cement stone in concrete and enhancing the performance properties of concretes

Objective of the projectAnalysis of mineral and chemical additives for high-grade concrete, identifying their advantages and disadvantages. Development of technology for modifying additives based on waste from mining and processing plants. Physico-chemical studies of these additives. Determination of their effective quantities and methods of application in concrete. Technology for producing high-performance concrete and studying its operational properties.

Relevance: Modern construction requires accelerating the concrete hardening process, increasing its strength, and reducing material costs. The production of fast-setting cements is energy-intensive and not always effective at the early stages of hardening. The development of modifying additives based on mineral waste allows controlling cement hydration, accelerating the formation of a strong structure, and reducing concrete costs.

The implementation of such technologies is relevant for Kazakhstan, as it enhances the environmental performance of construction materials, promotes innovation in the industry, and supports the development of qualified personnel, strengthening the competitiveness of scientific organizations.

Scientific supervisor: Nurlybayev Ruslan Yergalievich, PhD, Research Professor, O.A. Baikonurov Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Department of Chemical Processes and Industrial Ecology, JSC KazNTU named after K.I. Satpayev

Expected and achieved results: Development of an effective modifying mineral additive from mining waste, enabling the production of high-grade and high-performance concrete for various applications with accelerated hardening of cement paste.

Results: An analytical review of studies on the production of modifying mineral additives was conducted. An assessment of mineral raw materials from the waste of mining and processing plants in the Republic of Kazakhstan was carried out, and a technology for producing modifying mineral additives based on these wastes was developed. The main physical and mechanical properties of this raw material were determined, optimal compositions of the modifying mineral additive were selected, and its technological and mechanical properties were investigated. The scientific novelty lies in the development of a technology for producing modifying additives from mineral waste to accelerate the hardening of concrete cement stone while improving its physical, mechanical, and operational characteristics.
