AP19680182 — Development of an effective integrated enrichment and processing technology for the refractory gold-containing raw materials of the Aktobe deposit
Purpose: The project is to develop optimal technological regimes for enrichment and processing of refractory rebellious gold-containing raw materials of the Aktobe deposit of the Mynaral ore field based on the intensification of gravity and flotation enrichment and leaching processes to produce a high-quality gold concentrate and reduce the environmental impact.
Relevance: The relevance of the study is driven by the need to improve the efficiency of processing refractory gold-bearing ores, as reserves of easily processed raw materials are being depleted. The difficulty of gold extraction is associated with its fine dispersion and association with sulfide minerals, limiting the effectiveness of conventional technologies. Modern approaches require enhancement through the application of advanced physicochemical methods. In this context, ultrasonic and cavitation treatments are of particular interest as promising tools for mineral activation. The development of such technologies will increase gold recovery rates and improve the economic viability of ore processing.
Scientific supervisor: Candidate of technical sciences, Associate Professor, Madina Barmenshinova
Results obtained: Within the research work, a comprehensive analysis of the material composition of refractory gold ore from the Aktobe deposit was carried out using chemical, mineralogical, and physicomechanical methods. At the first stage, the distribution forms of gold in the ore were studied, and rational gravity separation schemes were justified. At the second stage, flotation processes were investigated using various reagents, optimal operating conditions were established, and potassium butyl xanthate was identified as the most effective collector. A combined flowsheet of grinding–centrifugal concentration–flotation was tested, demonstrating high gold recovery performance. Subsequently, hydrometallurgical studies including cyanidation and mechanochemical activation were performed, leading to increased gold dissolution. Based on the results, a process flow sheet and technological regulations for ore processing were developed, substantiating an efficient industrial scheme for gold recovery.
