AP19676884 – Development of effective methods for crushing rock mass during mining of ore from a complex-structured array by controlling the parameters of the explosion energy

The aim of the work is to develop methods for controlling the energy of an explosion and the parameters of drilling and blasting operations for the destruction of complex-structured and highly fractured rock formations based on theoretical and experimental studies, modeling gas-dynamic processes and optimizing the design of explosive charges.

Relevance The development of deposits with highly fractured and complex-structured massifs presents serious engineering and technical difficulties. Unstable physical and mechanical properties of rocks and a high degree of fracturing significantly reduce the effectiveness of traditional drilling and blasting technologies. In this regard, it is important to develop scientifically sound methods of explosive energy management that ensure stable destruction of the array, increase productivity and reduce production costs.

Results obtained:  Within the conducted research work, a comprehensive analysis of the geological, structural, and geomechanical conditions of complex and highly fractured ore masses was carried out. The strength properties of the rock mass and the mechanisms of its failure under blasting loads were studied. A mathematical model of blast-induced fragmentation was developed using numerical simulation, which made it possible to justify rational parameters of drilling and blasting operations. Laboratory and industrial tests of different charge designs were performed, confirming the effectiveness of slot-forming and stepped charges. The proposed solutions were validated in industrial conditions, demonstrating reduced seismic impact and improved fragmentation quality. Based on the results, practical recommendations were formulated and the economic efficiency of the implemented technology was confirmed.
