AP08857516 – Metal-containing ionic liquids in agrochemistry
The aim of the Project is the synthesis of metal-containing bifunctional ionic liquids based on the biological active substances to determine candidate substances for agricultural chemistry (plant growth stimulants, adaptogens, root formation stimulants, etc.).
The relevance of the project: The project focuses on the development of new efficient and environmentally friendly agrochemicals based on ionic liquids, addressing a key challenge in modern agriculture. The use of metal-containing ionic compounds enables targeted tuning of properties and the creation of dual-function, long-acting agents. The project will contribute to reducing Kazakhstan’s dependence on imported agrochemicals and support domestic production. The results will advance green chemistry and sustainable technologies. Overall, the project is expected to deliver significant socio-economic benefits through improved crop productivity and agricultural efficiency.

Results obtained: Within the research project, new ionic compounds based on dimedrol and naftifine were synthesized using classical, ultrasound, and microwave-assisted methods. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy as well as thin-layer chromatography. Antibacterial activity studies revealed that several compounds are effective against S. aureus, E. coli, and B. subtilis. The complexation ability of the compounds with metal ions was investigated, resulting in the formation of metal-containing complexes. The plant growth-stimulating activity of both initial and metal-containing compounds was evaluated. All tasks outlined in the project plan were fully completed. The results obtained can be used to expand the pool of promising candidate substances for agrochemical applications and the development of green technologies.
