АР19674847 – Investigation of the mechanism of water inflows and regularities of the influence of geological and technological factors on isolation work performance
The purpose of the work is to establish connection between residual resistance factor and physical and chemical properties, rheological and filtration characteristics of sludge-forming compositions depending on porous medium permeability and injection rate.
Relevance Currently, the share of fields with hard-to-recover oil reserves is increasing worldwide. In this aspect, Kazakhstan is among the countries with the problem of production of hard-to-recover hydrocarbons. Serious difficulties in oil production arise due to water inflows into wells. In such conditions introduction of various methods of oil production intensification is one of the basic methods of increasing of efficiency of technological solutions at management of field development. The problem of water inflows and related finding ways of their most effective isolation are on the agenda and currently as urgent.As a result of the analysis of numerous studies in recent years, the relevance of the problem of development of water shut-off technology, which includes all the necessary aspects and basic requirements to the composition provided for use, such as low viscosity of the solution to create an insulating screen of large radius; adjustable time of gel formation in a wide temperature range; high gel shear stress; selectivity of exposure, etc. is substantiated. As the main component of gel-forming system the use of polymer-based reagents with a new complex mechanism of action is envisaged.

Results obtained: The study evaluated the effectiveness of polymer flooding in the Neocom II reservoir and demonstrated a positive outcome. An additional oil production of 27,440 tons was achieved, along with a slight reduction in water cut. A comprehensive analysis of geological, physical, and technological factors influencing water shutoff efficiency was conducted. It was established that different parameters affect performance indicators in varying ways, including treatment duration and incremental oil recovery. A decision-making algorithm based on mathematical statistics and fuzzy logic was developed to account for uncertainty in reservoir conditions. The results were published in scientific papers, and contributed to academic outputs including textbooks and dissertations.
